ROME???!!!???

Okay, so I was totally stoked with the Philadelphia, PA, temple announcement ... then the baby started crying (right that second), and I missed the Rome announcement until hubby repeated it, and the congregation got totally quiet, and then our closed captioning (because I'm going deaf, I keep it on most of the time) showed it. Then the congregation started making noise. OH MY GOSH. So cool.

Ahem.

I don't think I heard another word of conference ... just kidding. I did hear and felt the spirit, rather enjoyed Elder Uchtdorf's talk ... But now I need to get to work, so I can't recap. Booo!

(p.s., I shredded most of my credit cards this morning. kept ON and Walmart, since I have balances on them and need to return some stuff to ON this week, which was charged on the card ... bah.)

Was it noise they were making or laughing? Cause I thought they were laughing or something...I didn't get the jest of the congregation reacting. Was it because it's Rome aka: Catholic Capital? I thought that maybe they were laughing since Pres.Monson said that those 5 new temples would be up in a few months/years and 'Rome wasn't built in a day'...hence the laughter.

p.s. I'm soooooo stoked for the Philly temple because I served in NJ and now those members have a SUPER close temple finally! Are you from out east?

I figured the noise/laughter was because it's Rome aka: Catholic Capital.

I lived in Virginia when I was a kid, but I get excited for every temple built in the East because they do definitely need more so they can get to the temple more often and not have to travel so far.

I think it could be a combination of the Rome temple AND the temple being built in the "Greater Kansas City Area".... which could easily mean Independence...

That's definitely true.

I have it DVR'd - we skipped out on it to celebrate the anniversary - HELLO, that is why we got married on the 4th of October - a church commitment-free weekend for my family originally and now one for us every year on our anniversary :-). Anyway, I haven't watched it yet. I should do that today.
