Congratulations, Mr. Coordinator

So, one of the lower management/small supervisory positions at hubby's work is "coordinator." It's kind of like being a dispatcher. His boss has been trying to get him to take over the position for over a year. He refused, partly because of the stress level, and partly because there is no additional compensation for doing the job.

However. The nights he is NOT coordinator, they do not finish on time, and the company loses money because people poop around and do not work through their entire shift, just stay clocked in for the heckuvit. They had a permanent coordinator who is no longer employed there.

Hubby went to work last night, early, like he's been going in a lot lately.

His boss's boss clapped him on the shoulder and said, "Congratulations, Mr. Coordinator."

No ifs, ands, or buts, he's the coordinator.

Two good things come to mind: 1) His job is a little more secure right now than it was a few months ago, even with the economy in a slump. 2) They will let him work extra hours indefinitely *only* because he is the coordinator.

Two bad things come to mind: 1) The stress eats at him. 2) Stress does bad things to bipolar patients.

At least he's on his lithium ...

And we seem to be on the same page with our finances, finally, and finally able to tackle the problem like we've been intending to all these months. lol. GAHH.
