1. Realizing that even though we're broke at the moment, I have stuff in my craft closet to make Kiddo an Easter skirt without spending a dime, and she has a top that will match. Guess what my next project is ...
2. Oxyclean. Kiddo was having a bit of a rough day on Monday and dumped her entire plate of spaghetti on the floor. One cleaning with Oxyclean, and it's 90% gone. I'll do it again tomorrow and hopefully it'll be completely gone.
3. Baby boy has learned he can scoot backwards. It's a bit frustrating for him since he's going the opposite direction of his goal, but cute nonetheless.
4. Kiddo actually liking her costume and hubby being supportive and telling me I rocked when he saw it. With only a little prompting.
5. Getting the car fixed for free. I only had to buy the part. That was seriously the highlight of my week.

A craft closet! I need one of those.
David built me a pantry last week. Somehow I think he will be less enthusiastic about a craft closet.
My mom bought fabric for the girls' stuff for Easter before she left. Doing more twirl skirts for the younger 2, something else similar but of course more grown-up for HEY. And then I loaned my sewing machine to MIL. Which is fine because I have a ton of schoolwork due next week and I sew better under pressure anyway.
I was actually thinking I need directions for the twirl skirt again ...
and my shelves in my closet are a bookcase. lol
I heart, heart, heart the twirl skirt. It's at http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2008/11/tiered-skirt-aka-twirl-skirt.html
I really want to sew instead of do homework, so it probably is a good thing it's gone. But I WANT to sew, darn it.
My sewing closet is a cardboard box with my sewing machine next to it. I am working towards a sewing/craft table - my old desk has shelves on the side and I'm not using it anymore since I have both computers on one desk. I have a spot for it in the family room, but I have to clean it off at least enough to be able to move it from where it is now.
hey thanks. didn't you say you gathered the rectangles before sewing them into loops? I think that'd be easier.
I'm thinking I might permanently move my computer into the bedroom since I type while no one is in there, and put the sewing machine on my desk in the living room. It has shelves and stuff, too ... and then it'd be off the dining room table! haha.
Yes, like a thousand times easier. I only got the idea and the measurements from the tutorial. I cut them, gathered them, side seam, sewed and elasticized casing, and hemmed. I think I might actually go with 2x or 1-1/2 and a little bit more this time and make them a little twirlier.
sweet. so good to know. thanks!
I LOVELOVELOVE OXYCLEAN!!!
